Jacklyn McCarthy


Jacklyn McCarthy holds a Masters in Public Health from University College Cork. She is currently a Researcher on the SSIS-ACE case control study, psychosocial, psychiatric and work-related risk factors associated with suicide in Ireland. Previously she has worked as a Mental Health Awareness Co-ordinator on the Saving and Empowering Young Lives in Europe (SEYLE) study. Jacklyn has Co-ordinated the solution focused coping programme Mind Yourself, for young people and adults across Cork and Kerry. She has worked as an Education Co-ordinator for Jigsaw Kerry. Jacklyn has also worked as a Researcher on the Suicide Support and Information System (SSIS) and as a Mental Health Promotion Officer on the Cycle Against Suicide initiative. Jacklyn has been shortlisted for two Excellence in Research Awards with the Irish Association of Suicidology (IAS). She was also awarded second prize for her poster presentation, based in SSIS data, at the College of Medicine and Health research day, University College Cork.
